Kadiköy Performing Art Center
The masses in the western part of the site are functions as the transfer station and they have different bear loading system than performance centre. Since this area is an old industrial area, load bearing systems and materials were preferred to make people feel the history of this area.So that, tensile load bearing system was chosen as transportation hub’s load bearing system and corten was chosen as façade coating material for performance centre.
In the project area, the transfer station is at the intersection of the 2 heavily used axes. The road in the south is the road used by minibuses, and the road passing through the west is the roads used by buses. In addition, civilian vehicles use both roads intensively.So that, this project divided into 2 part ; performance center and transportatıon hub. The entrance level is 0 for the cars in western part and southern part is for people.In addition , drop-off point is located at the intersection of the these 2 enterances.Also, metro exit located at the same level.
The connection road between the project area and the subway is included in the design, and the part inside is divided into 2 as a cycle road and a pedestrian road. Thus,new the bicycle path designed on the coast of Kadiköy. So that, bycle roads has become more uninterrupted in Kadiköy.
In Performing Halls’ entrance floor, the exhibition hall is located at the below part of the theater hall. Also, the ticket offices and the cloak room are located at the below part of the performance center.In addition, the back part of the scenes is designed for rehearsal room and dressing rooms. In addition to these, small souvenir shop and administration room are located on this floor. The 1st floor is mostly specialized for employees.It consist of offices, meeting rooms, control room, projection room and translation room.
This project was proposed to attract people from all age groups and to increase the movement in this part of Kadıköy and to gather the messy transportation network.

Kadikoy is the area of distribution and assembly point between Anatolian and European sides. Hence , Kadiköy is surrounded by a transportation network, but the dense traffic axes between the coast and the city texture cut off the relationship between the coast and the city. At this point,transportation axes in this area has been moved to the project area.
