BEA+ House
After the design idea and tiles selected ,the main idea was to create a path that eyes can track all the way because the house’s plan was consist of narrow and long corridor.Hence , Joint of tiles was designed to create the way that eyes can follow and color changes creates different spaces. Tiles , steel and glass furnitures and concrete table, all creates cold atmosphere in the house.
Eventhough, carpets and bricks on the ceiling were added to create opposition to this materials , intentionally cold atmosphere selected for this house.Because , low ceiling height in mezzanine and toilet and narrow corridor like plan shape can make people trapped inside of the house on the otherwise.In the enterance dining table which is Atelier BEA+ design (Table Anatolia) creates a corridor that provides ease of circulation. While one corridor leads to mezzanine, other one is leads working area.
In the enterance kitchen and dining table welcomes people.At the first glance metal based furnitures and railings and beams takes people attnetion.After you enter aligned tiles and concrete ,glass furnitures creates cold and sharp atmosphere for people.
After yous pass kitchen you enter office and that cold atmosphere blend into more balanced one.If you pass steel door after the office. toilet opens and same design principles in the enterance continue in this room.Tiles , concrete countertop and metal cabinet doors.
If you take ladders after the enterance , it leads to bedroom which continues the same cold atmosphere in the kitchen. Tiles , glass , metal and white painted furnitures were accompanied by warm materials like carpet and leather sofa. Eventough some opposite materials were used the house is defined by it’s cold atmosphere.

BEA+ House is a house designed for single people who likes to live in high ceiling houses. The house was old and worn out due to an it’s age and previously used as an storage.Beacuse of it used as storage thereis no proper air ventilation inside. For this reason, the house was redesigned with tiles to prevent any moisture oriented problems. Some of the furnitures were designed according to the new color palette and Japan’s wabi sabi idea which can be summuraze as llittle bit from everyhing.
